All of us at Preston Library are excited to welcome back cadets from Furlough!

Locker sign-ups start Tuesday, January 15th, at 0730. Lockers are limited, and so they are assigned on a first come, first serve basis! Come sign up for yours at the Service Desk of the Library.

Preston Library’s semester hours will resume on Wednesday, January 16th! Every Monday through Thursday during the semester, a librarian will be at the Service Desk until 2200 to assist cadets with research, finding library materials, citations, and more.

Fall FTX

Cadets_in_flight_on_Air_Force_Transport_during_FTX_ca_1950This coming weekend, VMI’s cadets will be participating in Fall FTX (Field Training Exercises). FTX provides cadets with training exercises specific to their ROTC branches, as well as opportunities to bond with one another.

Preston Library will be open during its regular hours this weekend except for Saturday when the Library will close at 1900. Enjoy FTX, cadets!

Preston Library Hours for Fall 2018

1907_Library_Building_interior_showing_Reading_Room_ca_1930Beginning Tuesday, August 28th, Preston Library’s hours will be as follows for the Fall 2018 semester:

Monday-Thursday : 0800-0100*
Friday : 0800-2200
Saturday : 0800-2200**
Sunday : 1000-0100*

A Librarian will be available for research & reference assistance in the evenings Monday through Thursday until 2200 (in addition to our regular daytime hours above).

*You must use your VMI ID card to get into the Library after 2200. Access only granted to current VMI cadets, faculty, and staff.
**On days where there is a home football game, Preston Library will be closed from 1300-1900.

Exams begin Saturday evening, 4 May.  Coffee starts Friday night, 3 May. The coffee service will be located in the Periodical Room.

2. We’ll have coffee, cocoa, and tea.

Coffee, tea and hot chocolate will be available at 2000 starting Friday, 3 May – Friday, 10 May.  Grab your books and go to Preston Library for the best study break on Post.

Coffee has been generously donated by Aramark.
